Yum Yum Chocobuns in Li'l Tokyo!

As a welcome home celebration I took Yum Yum Chocobuns out on the town. First we went to breakfast at Coffee Table in Silverlake. I was in line ordering food when apparently Yum Yum spotted a fresh red velvet cupcake...

While standing in line I heard "Hey! That's mine!!!"...I turned around and Yum Yum was eating someone's cupcake! I gave the angry lady $3 for the cupcake and we left asap. Embarassing!

Still hungry, I took Yum Yum to Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. I was hoping he'd behave a little better there...

"Which way to the snacks?"
"Oh! This way! Welcome! hee hee!"

Where'd he go?? Oh...there he is! Up in the tree! You can't sneak around and steal food. Get down here!

We decided to leave after some bread and cake snacks...but then we ran into a wonderful treat. Giant ice cream snack!!! Yum Yum indulged. (so did I)

"One more for the road?"
*sigh* He never gets full. On the way to the car we got a few more cake snacks(with custard filling) to keep Yum Yum happy(and quiet) on the ride home. We'll come back very soon Little Tokyo! Thank you for your generosity!

I rarely do freelance anymore but my friend Brad Berling called me up and told me I could do some scribbles for the big screen. A 4 day job of color marker sketches for Will Ferrell's latest movie "Step Brothers" which opened this past weekend.

Just got back from the San Diego Comicon with a bunch of friends and had a BLAST! Chatting with various artists and being inspired by endless video games, toy sculpts, art books, etc....UGH! Didn't want it to end!

Getting picked up in a few hours and headin' on over to the San Diego comicon for 4 days! GO NERDS! Haven't been there in 3 years so instead of a business card I'm gonna be handing out a Jupey Fun Pack that includes a sticker, buttons and tattoos! fun.

JAPANLA'S 2ND YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY!

JapanLA's 2nd year anniversary party at Club Rise in Hollywood! Lots of fresh costumes and the dj was killin' it! Hello Kitty was in the house - super friendly and hyped up on love. It was also the birthday of JapanLa's owner Jamie Rivadeneira - who was, as always, a model hostess.

Last night Carissa, Kheuthmy and I hit up an awesome party at Gonpachi, this really cool Japanese restaurant on La Cienega in Beverly Hills. Free food, sake, drinks...and cool stuff like manga artists there to draw you. Superb decor and a fun crowd. Big thanks to Jamie from JapanLA for the heads up!

Yum Yum a-comin'...

Once again Eric A. Anderson kicks out some awesome Yum Yum Chocobuns® 3-d models off of my slightly haphazard 2-d models.

My mom is cookin' up some Yum Yum crochet dolls of various characters. This is the first go. Didn't quite nail it but awfully close. A few tweeks then it's onto the next ones! Hopefully she doesn't notice I sneaked this practice one on here. :)

i'm so flattered!...(kind of)

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I'm not blushing.
The top image of Gingiroth(orange guy) was a piece I made for flyers for a solo show I had in October of 2006. I posted the image on flickr last year. Just a few weeks ago the below image of one of my flickr friends appeared. I've seen my image on other sites as well but at least they stated who the artist was. I come across articles on Cartoon Brew about this stuff too often. Half honored, half shocked, I'm not looking forward to more of this.
